Brisbane/Gold Coast is like Miami, mostly due to the climate and geography. Perth&Adelaide are like... Albuquerque or something... :) Canberra is like a bird feed station on the highway. Think Pyongyang, but less vibrant. :)The choice is between Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane/Gold Coast. And you can get a job anywhere, the crisis is mostly over down here.

Dec 31, 2009 - Oh, and two things, don't use "college" to refer to uni, the word college is often used here for high school. And I'm assuming you know this, but school goes February to December here (because we're in the Southern Hemisphere and summer is in January), not from September, so adjust your application timing accordingly.The most prestigous university is Uni. of Sydney, but UNSW and Uni. of Melbourne are also fantastic. Don't go to Canberra or Adelaide.

I know just a small part not much people there think like that but still have...But i know in everywhere still have good & bad person. Feb 10, 2010 - The most prestigous uni is the ANU in Canberra, UNSW is actually number 3 according to the book! Canberra is great! Many people in Australia only go to Canberra for boring school trips and then see it as a city for public servants, but it is actually really nice! 1 1/2 hrs to the beach, 2 hrs to the snow and 3 to sydney, so it is a great location. You have Kangaroos in the streets here and heaps of festivals. I have lots of friends who moved here for UC and they were all pleasantly suprised!

Mar 8, 2010 - i live in canberra and while i can appreciate some of the things it has going for it such as like you said its close to snow , syd and beach i also think its a great place for a young family as it has alot of solid work, good school system and the roads are safe and never busy. I still dont think its a great place to live for a young adult that wants to have abit of a nightlife and general fun. i can name plenty of people in the age range of 18 - 30 that cant stand canberra :(
